Ok, has anyone else heard of this? The New York Times had an article that it is being built but as I do an Internet search of it all I get is weirdo sights professing the end of times. So, anyone in New York, are you seeing this built? My reason for asking is that my son and husband are doing the whole the end is near thing and look at the wicked world crap. Pagans galore.

Pinot Grigio or Viognier are whites of choice. Cline makes a really nice Viognier.
reds..I love zin but Pinot Noir is nice as well.
and the single flower is a nice touch.

A question for mothers...
by Bob Loblaw ina human being, your child, was conceived, grew in you, and on one special day you delivered your child into this world.
a truly miraculous thing in and of itself.. when you were a jw, although forbidden to celebrate evil birthdays (sarcasm), did your heart ever ache contrary to watchtower teaching and want to shower your child with love and thankfulness?
i would think that if a religion were to believe in god, then their doctrine should have god somehow responsible for the act of procreation, birth, love, etc.

I have to say, my husband got a "note" from his sister saying she was so glad he was born, on the date that he was born! Is that not a birthday wish? But please do not celebrate. Really. What is the difference?
Celebrate the love that you have. Children are a most wonderful gift.

I would like to say Thank You!!! Your advise, all of yours, has been extremely helpful. I can not express this enough. I did not send the letter/email, but deleted it after I let my husband read it. We had a very lengthy talk. It turns out that he would rather keep our marriage than become a JW. He believes that some of their beliefs are true but "scratches his head" at others. He deletes most of the emails he receives without reading them. I did not know this.
I did not realize that my letter had the note of anger in it that some have expressed. My husband said it did also. I am sorry for this because I am not that sort of person.
So now, I will work on my marriage and try to be less suspicious, angry, hateful at times, well a pain in the butt.
Thank you thank you thank you again. The people on here are wonderful!

They don't stop by because last time we had a little disagreement and I was called a hateful woman. That particular elder said he would never stop by again and I told him that would be glorious. If you think this will prompt them to stop by, I will have to reconsider. -

What drama would it bring. The elders do not stop by the house anymore. It is only some of his family that are pushing it. He hasn't been to meeting in two years and is not baptized. But they won't let up. -

They don't talk directly to me. The send emails and make calls to hubby alone. When ever I walk into one of their conversations, they shut up. A lot of whispering.
